Our hiking tips:

  • Nature & culture, tradition & life in South Tyrol. All of this can be found in one special hiking trip to the Pfunders farmhouses. The farmhouse trail is a fascinating circular walkway along historic and traditionally cultivated farmhouses in Pfunders. Some of the farmhouses are open to the public. The entire length of the farmhouse trail is 7 km. There is also a shorter version which is a little less than 3.5 km. The trail is marked with information stations and panels and is suitable for a family hiking trip.
  • Alpine region Gitschberg/Joch Valley: This area offers more than 30 Alpine farms and even more mountain huts and snack bars along the way. Numerous hiking trails offer comfortable walks, ideal for all the family.
  • The Fane Alm is an historic mountain hut village, one of the most beautiful in the entire South Tyrol region. From the upper parking area, it is only 10 minutes by foot. From the lower parking area, you should follow the road. It is also suitable for buggies!
  • Rodengo/Rodeneck Alm: A hiking trip to a large Alpine farmhouse from where you can see the entire Brixen basin, as well as the Eisack Valley. Great views of the Dolomites, the Peitlerkofel, Afer Geisler and Villnoess! It is also suitable for buggies!
  • Altfass Valley: At the parking area at the Western edge of Maranza/Meransen, you can follow a wide hiking trail into the Altfass Valley. The first part of the journey leads you through the woods. When the valley opens up right in front of you, you will enjoy a very picturesque landscape with blooming meadows and many mountain huts. The Alpine Kneipp trail offers you the possibility to enjoy walking in the water. The Altfass Valley has four Kneipp stations, which can be used for the healing exercises recommended by Sebastian Kneipp!
  • Elf trail: At around 3 km long, the Elf trail in Vandoies di Sopra/Obervintl is suitable for children and adults alike. Enjoy nature along the route, as the Elf trial unpacks interesting insights for both kids and adults. Eleven stations provide you with active learning experiences such as reading tracks, watching game in their enclosures and enjoying some bird watching. Walk to the waterfall and enjoy some rest.
  • The Pfunders high mountain path will present you with panoramic views. In particular you should take a tour to the Eidechs Peak at an altitude of 2,738 metres above sea level.
  • High mountain hiking trips to the Fundres/Pfunders and Valles/Vals Lakes: Refreshing day excursion to the Weitenberg, Komfoss and Grindlberg & l Ponte di Ghiaccio/Eisbrugg lakes. In Valles/Vals, you can walk around the Selvaggio/Wilder Lake and Lake Siromba/Seefeld in Meransen.
  • The hiking path ‘Terner Mühlenweg’ is a popular destination for visitors who wish to discover the tradition of our mills. An interesting educational trail tells the story of the mills and also leads past the earth pyramids.
